Resources for the public

Here at HARC we are a vet clinic solely for the care of animals in foster with one of our rescue partners. Unfortunately, we do not accept animal surrenders, facilitate adoptions or see privately owned pets. However, please refer to this page for resources to find help with rehoming animals, adoptions, stray and lost dogs and cats or injured wildlife.

Wake County Animal Services

WCAS provides resources for adoptions, rehoming and lost & found pets. Information for lost cost spay/neuter programs and emergency clinics is available. You can also find contact information for Animal Control agencies here.

SPCA of Wake County

The SPCA of Wake County facilitates adoptions, rehoming and low cost spay/neuter clinics. They also have volunteer and foster programs if you are looking to get involved with an animal organization.

We are partnered with some rescues for specific breeds and species and please take a look to see who may best fit your interest or need!

Injured or Orphaned Wildlife

Information on what to do when you find injured and orphaned wildlife can be found through the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Their contact information can be found below along with other rehabilitation organizations.
